SA Imperial is the very first alpaca purchased by Carousel Alpacas.

Imperial has been used as a PR alpaca, taken on tours through Cedarburg WI during a festival weekend. He appeared in a Christmas parade in Grafton WI – decorated fully.

Add to his great personality, Imperial had a successful show career winning several firsts and a second.

Imperial was at several shows that I went to in order to learn what made a good alpaca before I finally purchased any alpacas.  I knew I liked Imperial better than most of the other males at the shows. I was thrilled that he was at a show that was very close to home. The judge placed Imperial first and commented on his fiber and said, that if anyone had the chance, they should feel his fiber, “it feels just like butter”.   Imperial couldn’t get out of the ring fast enough for me. He was bought before he even returned to his stall.   He was at his new home before the end of the show.

While maturing, Imperial still maintains his excellent conformation and his extremely dense solid medium brown fiber.

Imperial is now semi-retired. Imperial has stamped his phenotype into two wonderful males that are now using as herds sires at Carousel Alpacas, Hey Jude and Bungalow Bill. Younger males are still growing up and will be used in a year or two (Ex. Carousel Taken for Granite).

There is an exceptional male that shows off Imperial’s great personality, Carousel Bosley. Bosley has proven himself in the show ring with a first and one second while being shown in only two shows. Bosley always comes up to me and insists on a body rub. One can see his tail actually wag. He gets that from Imperial.
